Andrews, North Carolina
Nestled along the scenic Valley River in northeastern Cherokee County, Andrews is a welcoming mountain town with a rich history and easy access to adventure. Located along U.S. Highway 19 - 74, Andrews sits at the heart of the mountain valley—just two hours from Asheville, Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Knoxville.
Andrews lies within the original homeland of the Cherokee people, whose deep connection to this valley continues today through members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The Old Army Road that once connected forts in Robbinsville, Andrews, and Murphy also serves as a reminder of the Cherokee Removal and the resilience of those who remained and rebuilt their lives in these mountains.
Incorporated in 1905, Andrews grew from a railroad and agricultural community into a thriving center for logging, tanning, and manufacturing. Through the decades, the town has continually adapted—moving from its industrial roots to a new era shaped by small business, creativity, and the spirit of entrepreneurship.
Cradled by the Valley River and the Blue Ridge Mountains, Andrews is a place where history runs deep and possibilities keep growing. Rooted in heritage and guided by a strong community spirit, Andrews is writing its next chapter—where creativity, connection, and adventure come together in the heart of the mountains.
